T-BA: 03: Stuck in a Myth
Ok so I normally take awhile to do blogs posts here, mainly because I’m generally posting either work or work in progress…not this time. Do to trying to get into the full rhythm of text based gaming, I’ve been trying my acquired skills on, Myth by Barry Volain, and it has proven itself to be quite the adventure game.
From playing it I have learned to look for the notepad file with helpful hints on typical actions you can expect to use in the game and the type of challenges you may face. This was also the first text adventure I have played that had such a giant area to explore as you start off in a section that has almost every area to choose from. Also the game hints encourage you to make maps I also my self wanting to be notified when I had gain points, I had gotten to 30/485 without even realizing it. Well anyhow I got stuck in the game so I think its time for me to move on to creation.
(edit: I found a walk-through for the game…..I got stuck cause I’m not heartless apparently)
So first I shall learn the basics then I will create an escape the room game. I really want to focus on story telling and narrative in the game I make so that the player/reader is aware of what choices are available mainly through playing the story and not outside knowledge.
